Two international networks have joined IFAC's forum of firms, taking the accounting federation's forum members to 21.
IEC was established in 1987 and has 40 members, while JHI has 130 member firms across 55 countries. JHI's international chairman is Mark Tenzer, of London firm Jeffreys Henry. Michel de Wolf is chairman of IEC.
The forum is an association of international networks of accounting firms.
'Membership of the forum demonstrates a network’s commitment to meeting its public interest responsibilities and the highest level of quality in auditing on an international scale,' said David Maxwell, chair of the forum.
The firms had to commit to quality control standards in accordance with the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and policies and methodologies for the conduct of transnational audits based on those issued by the IAASB.
