The board of Royal Dutch Shell has confirmed Simon Henry will take over as chief financial officer from 1 May.
Henry is currently the executive vice president of finance for Shell's international exploration and production division.
He will take over the position from Peter Voser, who leaves the role to assume the CEO position from 1 July.
