The historic manufacturer of Britain’s largest bell has fallen into the hands of administrators after hitting cash flow difficulties.
Simon Chandler and Steven Wood from Mazars have been appointed joint administrators of Taylors Eayre & Smith Limited the world's largest bell foundry.
The Loughborough-based company, which employs 26 people, has been in existence since 1784 and cast the largest bell in Britain the ‘Great Paul’ of St. Paul’s Cathedral.
“Taylors is very well known nationally and internationally within the sector and has a first class reputation,” said Chandler. “We are expecting there to be significant interest in the possibilities of acquiring the business.”
