Marek Grabowski is set to take charge of the Auditing Practices Board, taking over from Jon Grant.

Grabowksi retires as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers on 31 December, taking on the role on 1 March.

Jon Grant steps down after 14 years as boss but he will continue to work within the accounting watchdog on a part-time basis. He will also continue to serve as a member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.

“Marek is well placed to lead APB’s work in the coming years. He has extensive experience as a client service partner both as an auditor and reporting on capital market prospectuses. He has also spent periods acting as a technical support partner dealing with complex auditing and accounting issues internationally," said Richard Fleck, APB chairman.

The APB is an arm of the Financial Reporting Council.
