Macfarlane to leave Rentokil

by Alex Hawkes

10 Nov 2008

Rentokil FD Andrew Macfarlane is set to leave the rat-catching group, according to reports.

Macfarlane joined from Land Securities in 2005. Headhunters have been appointed to replace him, but it is unclear whether he volunteered his resignation, the Sunday Times said.

Macfarlane is likely to step down at the preliminary results next February, the FT reported.

Macfarlane is credited with overseeing a critical refinancing last month, but it has not been an entirely positive year, with third-quarter pre-tax profits down by 74%.

The company is in the middle of a turnaround plan.

Macfarlane was Accountancy Age's Blue Chip FD of the year in 2005 for his work at Land Securities.
