Kroll's UK management team has led an MBO of its European business.

Now known as Zolfo Cooper, the firm will be run by Simon Freakley, who was CEO of restructuring for Kroll's parent company MMC.

The MBO has taken place in tandem with New York-based Kroll Zolfo Cooper to form two separate partnerships trading under the same brand.

'[Our] excellent track-record and experience coupled with the continued close working relationships we will enjoy with our US colleagues and affiliates worldwide gives me great confidence for the long-term success of the newly independent Zolfo Cooper business,' said Freakley.

Former Kroll chairman Simon Buchler bid twice for Kroll earlier this year.
