Mike Tovey, a managing partner at Top 50 firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK, was elected president of DFK International, an international association of accountancy firms and business advisers, at a conference earlier this year.
Tovey will serve three years in his presidency and took over from Ray Mack, a partner in Calgary firm Kenway Mack Slusharchuk Stewart, in late July.
Tovey said that the challenging economic conditions will test many clients of member firms of DFK International.
'It is just as well that, at 20th worldwide, our international resources are stronger than ever,' said Tovey.
Chantrey Vellacott came 22nd in the Accountancy Age Top 50 Survey earlier this year.
