Sage is creating a globalised CRM business, a first for the company that is known for focusing on regionally-based products.

The strategy has been formulated to take advantage of the lack of local rules affecting CRM products, unlike those that must be considered for its accounting products.

Dave Batt, who recently joined Sage as senior VP and general manager of global CRM, heads up the new organisation that includes product strategy, product research and development, and product marketing resources.

'It’s my goal to drive our existing leadership even further with a comprehensive approach that builds the individual strengths of Sage CRM products into a stronger whole for our customers around the world,' said Batt.

Its suite of CRM products will sit under a new brand: Sage CRM Solutions. The FTSE100 business currently offers a range of CRM products, including Salelogix, ACT!, MME and an online offering known as CRM.com.
