The Securities & Exchange Commission has upped its scrutiny of Dell's accounts, by putting the PC maker under formal investigation.
Dell stated it was delaying its Q3 preliminary results announcement from today due to the 'complexity' of the ongoing investigation into its figures by the SEC. It has still not filed Q2 figures.
Reports suggest that investors are alarmed that little detail has been revealed by Dell as to the nature of the investigation.
The SEC began an informal investigation into Dell in September.
