BDO shows us the funny

IN STRESSFUL and testing times, laughter is the best medicine, or so the saying goes.
In that spirit, the people at BDO sought to tickle our funny bones with an exhibition of satirical cartoons collected over the course of 30 years from various newspapers.
The exhibition featured the famous Matt cartoons of The Telegraph fame, as well as illustrator Morris, (illustrated) whose drawings are well-known both sides of the Atlantic – ahem Colin was clearly busy on the day so could not feature.
The cartoons poked fun at topics such as HM Revenue & Customs, technology and general office politics.
TS understands that the collector of the cartoons – BDO’s tax partner Daniel Dover – feels the images speak more eloquently than he does.
“No one likes to pay their tax. No one really likes accountants. And not many of us like HMRC“, he told TS, “This is why I’ve used humour through these cartoons with my clients and colleagues to try to lessen the stress in dealing with taxation.”
The only thing we at TS are left wondering is did it help?
