TS WAS STUNNED by Digby Jones' speech at the City AM awards last night. While surrounded by a sea of journalists, he laid into hacks about their inability to grasp the importance of wealth creation.
Business publication City AM spends its life waxing lyrical about those who make money from money, and Jones (pictured) couldn't have found himself in a more pro-commerce environment.
Still, he chose to lump journalists in alongside - horror of horrors - public sector staff, part of the unenlightened masses who begrudge businessmen their hard-earned daily caviar.
TS was also tickled by the winner of the professional service award. Big-hitters KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and Ernst & Young were all in the running, only to be pipped to the post by dark horse L.E.K Consulting.
No, we don't know who they are either.
