Seats of power
TS HAS FURTHER proof accountants are taking over the world. It seems eight certified public accountants have either won or retained seats in the recent US mid-terms. The US accounting body, the AICPA, tells us all five existing accountants won their seats and three successfully won new contests.
However, it’s not good news for those whose politics fall a little on the left of centre. Five of the eight members are now Republicans.
TS wondered why it was that accountants in politics, generally speaking, seem to fall on the right of the political divide.
