UK Deloitte partner becomes EMEA head of tax

David Sproul, Deloitte head of tax, takes on EMEA role

Written by AccountancyAge.com

Deloitte has selected David Sproul, its UK head of tax and member of the firm’s executive management team and board, to head the EMEA regional tax team, starting immediately.

Alberto Terol, Deloitte global head of tax, said Sproul would take on his new role in addition to his UK responsibilities. His experience would play a key part in Deloitte achieving its ambition to be the number one tax adviser worldwide.

Sproul said: ‘Tax has always been international, but is increasingly so. As our clients increasingly operate and trade globally, it is important that we are well placed to ensure they benefit from Deloitte’s collective tax expertise across the EMEA region and beyond.’

David was appointed UK head of tax at Deloitte in 2006. Before that, he was UK managing partner for talent, leading the firm’s talent strategy in the UK.
