Written by Michelle Perry

BDO Stoy Hayward has beefed up its wealth management business with the acquisition of Wolanski Checkley Fisher, a firm of actuaries and pension specialists.

WCF will be incorporated into the firm's wealth management division, BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management, adding some 30 staff to the current national total of 195 professionals in the division.

Richard Spilg, chief executive of BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management, said: 'Our acquisition of the business of WCF is part of the ongoing expansion …. Merging WCF with ourselves will add significantly to our advisory capabilities and build on the expertise of our actuarial team by adding an additional six qualified actuaries, while enabling us to take on larger assignments, particularly in the pension fund arena.'
