KPMG lures forensic partner from Accenture

KPMG has lured Stephen Gallagher from Accenture to become a partner of its forensic technology team

Stephen Gallagher is joining KPMG’s forensic technology team from Accencture where he led the European business intelligence practice.

Gallagher, who was at KPMG Consulting earlier in his career where he helped build its business intelligence practice, has also led the UK business intelligence practice at IBM Global Services.

Fraud continues to represent a major issue in both the private and public sectors, driving the KPMG forensic practice to become one of its fastest growing divisions with revenues expanding from £30m in 2005, to £53m in 2007.

Adam Bates, KPMG Forensic global chairman, said forensic technology was ‘one of the key pillars in the fight against fraud’. Analytical technologies and processes were integral to this.
