Tidjane Thiam will step up to the role of FD at Prudential earlier than previously thought.

The company had announced that Thiam would be joining the board at some point in April, but his appointment has now been brought forward.

Prudential said: 'We now confirm that Tidjane Thiam will join the board as group Finance Director with effect from 25 March 2008.'

Prudential added: 'Philip Broadley will cease to be group FD from that date, but will remain on the Board as an executive director until the Annual General Meeting on 15 May 2008. As announced previously, Philip will leave the group with effect from 31 May 2008.'
