Rentokil's Macfarlane under pressure

FD of pest control giant faces shareholders today, some of whom are expected to call for the company's senior management to step down

Andrew Macfarlane's role as FD of Rentokil hangs in the balance as activist shareholders are expected to demand that senior management figures step down.

Together with chief exec Doug Flynn, Macfarlane will present the company's strategy to shareholders at a series of meetings starting today, but investors may be gearing up to oust the pair.

One shareholder told The Sunday Telegraph : 'This is a complete mess. And the responsibility for this lies with Doug and his management team.'
