Conservative leader being urged to distance Tories' non dom stance from that of Labour as he remains tight-lipped on the controversial issue

David Cameron is facing calls to revise the Conservative's policy regarding non-doms.
Cameron has come under increasing pressure to distance the party from Labour's policy, which would then pave the way for the Tories to attack Alistair Darling's plans in the same manner that they criticised capital gains tax changes.
The Conservative Party has been put in a difficult situation, because it had announced plans to hit non-doms with a £25,000 toll only weeks before Labour rolled out its £30,000 levy proposal.
It is thought that the similarities between the two policies would be pounced upon if Cameron came out to criticise Labour's proposals.
