Fraudulent websites are increasingly being used by thieves in the US to steal a consumer's sensitive personal information and for consumers who are filing tax returns electronically, knowing they are dealing with a trusted service is vital because they are providing social security numbers, credit card information and other data they do not want to fall into the hands of e-criminals.
