Simon Michaels to take over from Jeremy Newman as head of mid-tier firm

Written by Nicholas Neveling

The new managing partner of BDO Stoy Hayward has been announced today, as the firm named Simon Michaels as the man to take over from outgoing boss Jeremy Newman.

Michaels, an employee at BDO since 1987 and currently the head of the firm's business restructuring arm, was chosen after a formal election process held this month.

The business restructuring arm of BDO has significantly grown its market share since Michaels took charge of the division in 2004.

Michaels will take the helm at the firm in October, when Newman steps down and takes on a new role as the head of BDO International.
