Graydon has reported one particular company to the police after finding that there was a suspicious lack of credit report requests passing through the credit ratings agency and that even though accounts showing a £13m turnover had been filed at Companies House, the auditor quoted in the papers could not be traced.
The company has been advertising in newspapers that it could guarantee delivery of iPods before Christmas.
Martin Williams, managing director of Graydon UK, says in his blog for Accountancy Age: ‘It also brings to light the serious issues relating to the quality of data being filed for public consumption at Companies House.’
