Winner: Coda Financials
It has been an exciting 12 months for business software company Coda. After two years of research and development, and a £15m investment, the AIM-listed company successfully unveiled Neon, its largest-ever product release.
Just days later, the company announced a ground-breaking partnership with IT giant salesforce.com that will see Coda provide on-demand software on the saleforce.com platform.
The success of the past months has been capped off for Coda by winning the Accountancy Age Award for Enterprise Software of the Year.
The company's core financials product fought off stiff competition from Version One and CedarOpenAccounts and impressed the judges with its flexibility, affordability and outstanding customer care.
'This is a great, all-round product with excellent support - a good package. It is 100% web-enabled, which means there is very low total cost of ownership,' the judges said. They continued: 'The software is very impressive. There is strong evidence of excellent product development and a clear roadmap for where the company is going.'
Part of the Coda 2Count range, Financials has always been a cornerstone of the Coda business. The software has a sizeable and solid customer base, generating annual maintenance revenues of £20m.
Financials attracted 37 new customers in the first half of 2007, and with the company continuing to expand internationally, growth prospects are good.
The software, despite all its new additions, has also proved to be very reliable. It has been designed to be as resilient as possible and its solidity has been proved with thousands of users.
The Checksum function ensures that all updates to financially sensitive data have passed Coda security to ensure transparency and adherence to governance requirements.
