Written by AccountancyAge.com

Ernst & Young has nabbed three senior specialists from Thames Water to strengthen its presence in the water utility sector. Thames Water was bought by a consortium led by Australia-based Macquarie Bank a year ago.

Vanessa Clark, Pip Gilbert and Helen Reid join E&Y’s national water practice of more than 50 across the UK who work across a range of services from tax to risk and business advisory.

Clark has been appointed as a manager to the team and will be based in London where she’ll focus on performance improvement and customer experience. She has held a number of senior posts at Thames Water, most recently as head of customer relations, regulatory and policy. She has seven years’ experience of working in the sector.

Gilbert, former head of finance projects at Thames Water, joins as a senior risk manager based in Reading. Previously she spent more than nine years working for Thames Water in roles ranging from finance and internal audit to consulting for other water and sewerage companies.

Reid joins Ernst & Young as a tax advisor based in Manchester. She was previously head of tax at Thames Water, where she started her four year career in the sector.
