FRC's Boyle to head international audit body

FRC head Paul Boyle elected to chair influential international audit regulation body

Paul Boyle, the chief executive of the UK's Financial Reporting Council, has been appointed as chairman of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR).

The 21-member body appointed Boyle at a two-day meeting held in Toronto this week, where the key issues of turbulent world markets, exchange of information between audit regulators and international auditing standards were all discussed.

The IFIAR members agreed that they would continue to review impediments to information exchange between national regulators.
