Ordance Survey puts FD role on employment map

The Ordnance Survey is searching for a new FD

Written by David Jetuah

The national mapping agency, which produced its first map in 1801(right), is looking to replace Alistair Matthews, who left to join Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.

In this year’s annual report, the OS disclosed that on 31 March 2007, Matthews had received a salary plus bonus of £125,000-£130,000, bolstered by a defined benefit pension valued at £83,000.

A spokesperson for the public body, which has been providing detailed geographic information for more than 200 years, said: ‘An active selection process is underway and both internal and external candidates are being considered.’

The eventual winner of the role will spearhead a 65-strong finance division and also includes responsibility for a further 100 staff working on key investment programmes.
Candidates have been given a deadline of 15 October to put themselves up for contention. Ordnance Survey had revenues of £115m for the year to March 2007.
