North-west accountancy firms John Clarke & Co and Wells Richardson have announced the completion of a merger.

The new firm, based in South Yorkshire, will operate under the name of Wells Richardson, and offer a number of financial and business services including auditing, accountancy, taxation and business support.

John Clarke, a past president of the local Sheffield district society of ACCA, has operated his practice in Sheffield for 32 years and is regarded as one of the region's most respected certified accountants. Clarke will join Wells Richardson as a partner.

Clarke said: 'It was crucial to find the right partners who share the same vision and ethos. The merger will create a fresh new approach, coupled with a vibrant, young and experienced team. We look forward to an exciting future and to expanding the practice further.'
