Leisure giant brings in Version One

UK's oldest leisure contractor revamps purchase order systems

Written by AccountancyAge.com

The longest established leisure management contractor in the UK, SLM, has undertaken an overhaul of its purchase-to-pay processes with the implementation of document management and imaging technology.

The technology, supplied by specialists Version One, will enable SLM to create, store and deliver all purchase orders electronically.

The group, which manages leisure centres for local authorities across England including Cambridge City Council and Bristol City Council, will implement the PO technology into its existing Microsoft Great Plains ERP system.

'Managers will have greater control over cost reconciliation, and the posting and faxing of purchase-to-pay documents between sites will be eliminated,' said Tim Stooks, financial controller for SLM.
