Xansa to be sold to French group

Bid accepted for group which does work for Beeb and NHS

Xansa, the accounting and IT outsourcing group, is to be sold to French IT service provider Steria in a deal worth around £472m.

In April, Xansa signed a £19m deal to provide accounting services to the NHS, while it has also agreed an £85m deal with the BBC.

The news though was not well received by the market, with shares falling as much as 10% on fears the offer was too high.

The combined company would rank among the top 10 in its sector in Europe with revenues in excess of £1.2bn
