Hargreaves Services, the UK’s largest carbon-based minerals importer, is implementing technology to improve cash flow and purchasing efficiency.
The system from Version One produces invoices and remittances direct from the desktop. ‘The system is so flexible that every customer and supplier can have their own preferred method of delivery,’ said Marcus Spence, project accountant at Hargreaves Services.
‘We will be able to chase debt far more quickly and cut inefficient paper-chasing.’
With 9,000 purchase orders, sales invoices, statements and remittances each month, the firm recognised its financial processes were too reliant on paper.
‘We email documents instead of sending 200 documents a week by post. We will save £20,000 to £30,000 a year, and 10 to 12 man-hours a week,’ said Spence.
