CIMA sets up office in China

Institute sets up representative office in Shanghai

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants has opened its first representative office in China, in the city of Shanghai.

CIMA has been operating in China for the last few years and has already established exam centres in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Kathy Grimshaw, director of international development at CIMA, speaking at the opening ceremony. Kathy said: ‘A rapidly growing pool of CIMA professionals here will not only help support China’s decision to move towards the adoption of International Accounting Standards and strengthen the corporate governance framework, but will deliver Chartered Management Accountants to contribute to China's business performance and international competitiveness.’
