HP
is recalling over 675,000
Photosmart
R707 digital cameras from around the world because of potential safety
issues.
The batteries can overheat when the camera is connected to an AC adapter or
docking station. At least one camera has caught fire, but no injuries have been
reported.
The Photosmart R707 was introduced in August 2004 and sold for $250 to $400.
More information on the problem can be found at the
US
Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
Consumers are urged to stop using the cameras until they have downloaded and
installed an
HP Photosmart
R707 firmware upgrade from HP's website.
