Accenture wins US Air Force contract

Consultants to implement accounting system

Written by AccountancyAge.com

Accenture, along with IBM, Deloitte Consulting, Lockheed Martin and Grant Thornton will implement the US Air Force's new Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS).

The five year contract to design, build and implement the Oracle e-Business Suite solution is worth $79m (£45m) to Accenture.

It is one of two pilot programs designed to transform finance and accounting systems and deliver new processes to improve financial visibility.

The DEAMS program will use the Department of Defense’s new Standard Financial Information Structure which provides a comprehensive common business language that supports information and data requirements for budgeting, financial accounting, cost/performance management, and external reporting across the Department.
