Softworld helps relieve compliance burden

Manage the increasing burden of compliance upon businesses at Softworld

Written by Kevin Reed

Accountants and IT decision-makers are set to attend the latest Softworld Accounting and Finance event, in a bid to manage the increasing burden
of compliance upon businesses.

Sponsored by Accountancy Age, the show, to be held at the NEC Birmingham between 12-13 October, will feature a host of IT tools designed to help customers manage the increasingly complianceheavy business climate.

ACCA is providing advice on the effects of international financial reporting standards upon SMEs. The association’s masterclass, presented by Richard Martin, will advise, and provoke debate, on the longer term changes to accounting standards for smaller enterprises.

Accountancy Age editor Damian Wild will host a panel discussion on the pros and cons of outsourcing the finance function, as SMEs are presented with more options to use third-party services providers to ease the administrative burden and cut costs.

Other masterclasses include how to implement accounting software effectively, presented by BASDA chief executive Dennis Keeling, and how to save half a million pounds a year using document management and imaging software, by Johnston Publishing IT manager Michelle Jeffrey. Attendees include Access Accounting, Albany, Coda, ICAEW and Version One.
