JDS to push on with E&Y tribunal

Joint Disciplinary Scheme keeps heat on E&Y as case ends, with push for tribunal date

Written by Kevin Reed

The Accountants' Joint Disciplinary Scheme will push for a tribunal date against Ernst & Young following the end of the firm's involvement in the Equitable Life trial.

Chris Dickson, executive counsel of the JDS, has told Accountancy Age that he would 'go and get some dates for the tribunal', having laid complaints against Ernst & Young for its work on the audit of Equitable Life.

The JDS has waited until the end of the Equitable Life court case before proceeding with its own plans.

Dickson recently had his contract extended at the JDS until 2007, as it still has a number of cases to deal with before its work is completely taken over by the disciplinary body of the Financial Reporting Council.
