All eyes are now on Luxembourg's European Court of justice as the eagerly-awaited Marks & Spencer loss relief case finally gets underway.

The case is worth about £50m, should M&S win, and could result in the majority of European Commission member states' tax systems being deemed illegal. It could also lead to £20bn-worth of similar claims in the UK alone.
