ACCA student intake reaches record high

ACCA today announced its annual student intake reached an all time high last year, with a global intake of 55,942 - an increase of 21% on 2000.

In the UK, its total registrations also reached a new record - some 13,677.

Mark Protherough, ACCA executive director of educational affairs, said: 'ACCA's student numbers and sustained global growth reflect the relevance of our qualifications not only to students, but crucially to employers throughout the world in business, the public sector and private practice.'

The high figures were the result of its expansion of offices internationally and the marketability of its new professional examination syllabus.
