Taking Stock - Blacks boss geared up for ski recovery.

Written by

Good news for Blacks Leisure chief executive Simon Bentley who collided with a tree in January at 30 mph on a skiing holiday in the Swiss Alps. Fellow chartered accountant and group finance director Andy Hall says his convalescing boss is up and about, working from home and ready to return to take the helm at the outdoor sports and leisure group. Bentley, who was previously a senior partner of Landau Morley chartered accountants, was left unconscious for 20 minutes on the Verbier slopes and doctors at the time said his recovery was 'remarkable'. With the ordeal almost drawn to a close, TS had to ask the pressing question in the spirit of Ali G: What gear was he using? 'Someone at the time suggested he was wearing O'Neills (a Blacks subsidiary)', said Hall. 'But, I don't think it is here or there - the accident was a fluke and Simon has luckily recovered very quickly.'
