RUSSELL FIELD, a UK audit partner at BDO, has been appointed global head of real estate and construction at the firm. He replaces Solly Benaim who retires on 1 July after 39 years at BDO.
With more than 30 years real estate and FTSE listed experience, Russell Field will lead the global team through its next stage of growth focusing on delivering specialised assurance, tax and advisory services to support the evolving needs of the real estate market.
Benaim will pursue advisory and non-executive roles. Since 2001, he has grown the UK sector team to 200 specialist advisers. He has also overseen the growth of BDO’s global real estate operations to revenues of more than $550m across the world.
Commenting on the appointment, Field said: “BDO’s current real estate and construction client base is testament to Solly’s success, and I am looking forward to leading such a strong and experienced team of experts that remains passionate and fully focused on the sector.
“We will continue to provide tailored solutions for a range of clients around the world; from established property companies and funds, to growing property developers, investors and entrepreneurs.”
